DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Where residents occupy their own apartments and manage their own daily living requirments. Independent living is availible only to qualified retired Presbyterian ministers, missionaries, Certified Christian Educators, Certified Musician Associates, and Commissioned Lay Pastors.

Who qualifies?
A minister, missionary, Certified Christian Educator, Certified Musician Associate, Commissioned Lay Pastor, and/or spouse who has served the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in a "called" position for 20 years or more may apply for residency at the Grove at age 62. Qualified applicants may be accepted for admission on campus between the ages of 65 and 80.

How Do I Apply?
If you meet the qualifications, all you need to do is contact the Monte Vista Grove Homes (MVGH) office and request an application.

Once you have completed and returned the application along with a small non-refundable processing fee, we will confirm your years of service with the Board of Pensions and submit your application to our Resident Relations Committee and Board of Trustees. We will then notify you of the Board’s action.

If you are ready to move within 18 months, you’ll want to start the process right away by planning to visit MVGH and tour available apartments. If you are planning farther into the future, we will put you on our waiting list and contact you by mail each year to obtain an update on your retirement plans.
