Men and women who have dedicated
themselves professionally to a lifetime of ministry to others through
the Presbyterian Church, should be able to live their retirement
years in a setting that provides high quality professional care,
a sense of community and personal dignity.
Because of the modest salaries
many Presbyterian ministers and missionaries received during their
service, many of them cannot afford to live in a comparable independent
living environment or access the level of care available at the
Grove's assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.
Monte Vista Grove Homes (MVGH) keeps fees
as low as possible and strives never to turn away a qualified minister
or missionary because of his or her financial capabilities. Contributions
are vital for MVGH to meet its operating and capital needs.
Although founded by the Synod of California
of the Presbyterian Church, MVGH receives no direct support from
the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Monte Vista Grove Homes depends
on the generosity of members of Presbyterian Churches from across
the nation, and the contributions of concerned individuals from
the broader community.
